We primarily focus on three Bays, Thus the name Triple Bays. We do most of our guides in the Apalachicola, Choctawhatchee and West bays. Below is some information on those three destinations.

Apalachicola Bay

Best Times: March - August.

Apalachicola Bay is an estuary and lagoon located on the northwest coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The Apalachicola Bay system also includes St. George Sound, St. Vincent Sound and East Bay, covering an area of about 208 square miles (540 km2). Four islands, St. Vincent Island to the west, Cape St. George Island and St. George Island to the south, and Dog Island to the east, separate the system from the Gulf of Mexico. Water exchange occurs through Indian Pass, West Pass, East Pass and the Duer Channel. The lagoon has been designated as a National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Apalachicola River is the largest source of freshwater to the estuary. Combined with the Chattahoochee River, Flint River, and Ochlockonee River they drain a watershed of over 20,000 square miles (50,000 km2) at a rate of 19,599 cubic feet (550 m3) per second according to the United States Geological Survey in 2002.

The region features 1,162 species of plants, and includes the largest natural stand of tupelo trees in the world. The area is also home to 308 species of birds, 186 species of fish, 57 species of mammals, and boasts the highest species density of amphibians and reptiles in all of North America, north of Mexico stated by the Apalachicola Reserve, 2002.

Choctawhatchee Bay

Best Times: March - September.

Choctawhatchee Bay is a bay in the Emerald Coast region of the Florida Panhandle. The bay, located within Okaloosa and Walton counties, has a surface area of 129 mi2 (334 km2).[1] It is an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico, connected to it through East Pass (also known as Destin Pass). It also connects to Santa Rosa Sound in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to the west and to St. Andrews Bay in Bay County to the east, via the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. East Pass is the only outlet of the bay flowing directly into the Gulf of Mexico.[2] The Choctawhatchee River flows into it, as do several smaller rivers and streams.[1][3] The Mid-Bay Bridge crosses the bay, connecting the city of Destin to Niceville, Florida.

West bay

Best Times: March - October.

You’ve discovered the slow-moving saltwater marsh ecosystem known as West Bay, one of the most beautiful secrets of Panama City Beach. These waters are full of any type of fish you want. Tarpon season here is as good as it gets but that's not all this Bay offers. West bay is essentially a collection of Bays and waterways making up the larger West Bay.
